Adult ADHD therapy for when everyday life feels harder than it should.
You may know what needs to be done and still have trouble starting. Small tasks pile up. Time gets away from you. You work hard to stay organized, then feel frustrated when the same problems return.
Therapy can help you better understand how attention, emotions, stress, and your environment affect the way you function.
ADHD can affect more than focus
Adult ADHD may show up as difficulty beginning tasks, shifting attention, keeping track of time, remembering details, or maintaining routines. It can also affect emotional regulation, relationships, work, and the way you see yourself, sometimes alongside anxiety or relationship anxiety that wears you down in different ways.
- Procrastination and difficulty starting
- Losing track of time or responsibilities
- Feeling overwhelmed by ordinary tasks
- Inconsistent motivation and energy
- Emotional sensitivity or quick frustration
- Burnout from masking or overcompensating
- Shame from being called lazy, careless, or too much
Finding approaches that fit
Therapy is about understanding the patterns behind what keeps getting stuck and finding practical approaches that feel realistic for your life.
Sessions may include understanding emotional triggers, reducing shame, building routines, improving communication, and finding ways to make tasks more manageable.
You do not need a formal diagnosis to begin
You may already have an ADHD diagnosis, be considering an evaluation, or simply recognize yourself in these experiences. Therapy can begin with what is affecting you now.
I do not provide formal ADHD testing or prescribe medication. If evaluation or medication would be helpful, we can talk about appropriate referral options.
